This is why I don't eat dinner on Wednesday nights :)

What a feast! I am always so full when knitting is over. Dawn the fruit was so yummy! Thanks for the brownies Wendy. I could have eaten several more. If I did that sweater certainly wouldn't fit me when I'm done! Judi the cheese and crackers were great. Oh, how I love nuts. You brought the good kind. I think next time I'll make a double batch of the dip :)

Dawn I just love the color of your dishcloth. It's funny watching you knit on straight needles :) I want to see the soap when you get it! How pretty that will be!

Wendy you are quite the sport knitting one of the email patterns. I hope you enjoy making it. When you are ready to kitchner let me know. I have some nice step by step directions. I have to chant them to myself in a QUIET house to do it properly LOL! Thanks again for the veggies. I'm so excited to eat them!

Judi, I've never seen you run out of yarn! That is a lovely blanket you are making. Is it for Henry? Congratulations to you by the way on your new grandson. We want to see pictures!

Kathleen we all hop the birthday girl had a wonderful day. We missed you but I suppose if you want to let your child come first we will let it slip...THIS TIME!

Ingrid, I hope you had a good dinner with your friends. We will missed you too!

I hope to keep plucking away at this sweater. I'm so NERVOUS about the size. If it doesn't fit I won't be eating snacks on Wednesday nights any more. Or, maybe I'll just eat the cucumbers.

Next week will be meeting at Judi's. See you all there!

take care,
Dawn

Some Bunny wants to meet you!

I whipped up this little bunny blanket this week. Britt's friend is having a baby in September and I am giving her this for her shower next month. It was so easy and fast to knit!!! Wendy you were right. There was MORE than enough yarn. I returned the yarn I bought that I didn't really care for and finished up the pink I had.
I wanted to let you know that Ingrid and I were at A.C. Moore yesterday and they have 14 oz skeins of cotton yarn for only $3.99. You can get about 4 market bags of one skein...and think of the dishcloths LOL!!!
I am offering my house for Wednesday night. If that sounds good let me know :)
I've started a sweater for myself finally!!! I'm looking forward to sharing what I've done so far.
take care,
Dawn K

Wednesday's Ramblings

Good evening ladies. Good thing it is summer or I would be too tired to write this. :)

Dawn thanks for hosting. It was quite lovely. I really LOVE that coat you shared. I can't wait to see it finished!!! It's gorgeous. What a terrific thing to be passed down to you.

Diane, what can I say except I am impressed with your talents. I hope to see a new hat on your head soon. Remember, the rabbit goes in the hole, around the tree, out of the hole and jumps away!!!

Wendy, I'm so glad you are joining us. I hope you get some time to work on your bag. Any time you want to come over and get a lesson on uploading your pictures just give me a call. I'd be happy to help.

Kathleen, do you still love me???? The worst part is over now. I'll be stalking Ravelry for the picture of the finished project.

Judy, it was really nice meeting you. I certainly hope we see you again!!! I posted the picture of the bunny in honor of you :)

That little bunny blanket is coming along quickly. Who knows I might even cast on that sweater for myself by next week :)

Ingrid and Judi we missed you tonight. I hope you both are enjoying your company.
Pam if you are reading this we REALLY REALLY REALLY miss you too! And we all hope you'll come back to us!!!

Where will we be meeting next week. I am available if you'd like to come here. Let me know.

take care,
Dawn

I had so much fun with ewe all

Let me begin by saying welcome to Wendy! I hope you had a good time tonight and that you'd like to come back. I know I enjoyed your company.

Dinner tonight was fun. I'm glad we did it! The food was good. I am looking forward to the left over steak tomorrow for lunch :) Every thing ewe ladies brought was good. I'm glad I nabbed a piece of that cake for tomorrow!

Kathleen, I almost (notice I said almost) feel obligated to weave some ends in for you! It does look pretty good though!!! I'm sure Miss L will love it! The cake you made was so good. I had two of the brie goodies when you left. Oh, so good!

Ingrid, pretty pretty socks. I am very glad you came tonight! I'm just sorry you couldn't stay. Thanks for the fun shopping spree this morning. I'm actually looking forward to starting that sweater.

Dawn L the colors in your project are just gorgeous! Be sure to show us when it is done. Would you share that rice recipe. I really liked it! I'm glad you enjoyed your recipe book!

Wendy, I like your market bag. I can't believe it will hold a WATERMELON! I am looking forward to seeing that done...and making one of my own. You will find that we are all enablers when it comes to projects on the "to do" list :)

I am glad to get Mackenzie's sweater front back to where it was before I had to rip it out. I am excited to start my new scarf and sweater. Oh, my list is going longer by the minute!

Next week we'll be at Dawn L's. Hope to see you all there.

Next Wednesday!

Hello ladies. Next week when we meet at my house we will have our cookout! I was thinking we can either each bring the meat of our choice and a small side dish (we always have too much don't we?)or we could divvy up what we'd need. I know Kathleen and Dawn L would like a nice thick rare steak! (Just kidding).
Let me know what your ideas are.
take care,
Dawn K

Update Central!

Thanks Ingrid for hosting last night. It was fun!!!! The food last night was great!! I could have it all again tonight! You know there isn't a knitting night where any of us leave having learned nothing new, right Kathleen? I tried to find you a turtleneck picture but this is the closest I could find!

I hope your project (just in case it's hush hush) isn't giving you too much trouble!! I think I am going to put that on my list of to dos!

Ingrid you are a sock maniac!!! Look at you go!!!! I love the colors...though I notice you didn't offer to let me try it on....hmmmm! BTW I am listening to Elton John as I type this. Feel free to sing along :)

Dawn L, I just love the colors of your project! (again, in case it is hush hush!). Those socks you made are great. I am definitely making a pair!!!!!!

It seems as if another swap is in the works. I did a ravelry search and this is what I came up with. Not to bias your vote, but the top one is my favorite!!!

Pirate Hippo

I posted this on my own blog today and thought I would share with you ladies. Yesterday I finally finished the hippo for Mackenzie. The eye patch wouldn't stay on so I didn't bother with it. I also think I should have used a bigger needle for the sweater. It's tight and I ripped it putting it over his big head. When I sewed the rip it looked terrible. Britt told me not to worry, he's a pirate and that's how their clothes look LOL!

I'll see you all tonight at Ingrid's.

take care,
Dawn K

Knitting and Food. What could be better??

I don't know about you ladies but I am SO FULL!!! There were so many yummy things to eat tonight!!!! I am glad I didn't eat dinner to leave room for all of the snacks!

Ingrid it was nice to see you tonight. Thanks for hosting!! I'm glad you made the trip back for us. Thanks for the pudding shots LOL! Oh, and those socks are just so cute!! I love the summer colors. You are becoming quite the sock knitter missy! I also like that little gnome. How cute! I might make some of those. They would make great Christmas package decorations!

Judi, the blanket is coming along nicely. I like that color. It's one of my favorite baby colors. I remember when my grandmother made a sweater just about that color for Britt when she was a baby. The snack you brought was very good. I liked it!!

Dawn L your socks are BEE U TEE FUL! I like the way your jaywalker is coming out. The colors are great and it looks looser than I thought it would. Lovely!!! The cheese you brought was so good! It was perfect with the fruit and celery.

Kathleen I'm looking forward to seeing that tote! I found two hanks of off white Cascade 220 in my stash. I should make a test and see how it felts!!! The onion dip was wonderful. You'll need to share that recipe.
