Wrap and Turn

I don't know about you but I have the hardest time knitting a wrap and turned stitch without having it come out less than desirable. (you know holes, twisted and funny looking!)

I found this video very helpful! The concealing part is near the end.

Twas mere days after Christmas and all through Judi's house...

Sisters, Sisters
Judi thank you for hosting tonight. It was fun! Thank Lynn too for opening your house to us. It was nice meeting Pamela. :) The fireman suit you made for your grandson is so stinkin' cute!!!! I'm sure you'll have the scarf finished before you know it!

Dawnelle you certainly are the queen of socks!!!! I'm glad you finished the Christmas socks. Phew that's out of the way. The 3 x 1 rib you'll be doing in your sleep before you know it! :) It was nice to meet Faith. I say we buy her her own Sudoku game. She caught on to that so quickly!!!

Ingrid, Pam and Kathleen we missed you and hope you were doing something fun.

Judi and I are going to serenade Ingrid one of these days with our duo of sisters :) Ingrid, we know how you love to be sung to LOL!

Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, No sir,
I'm here to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who have seen us *
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man

Cream cheese and pimiento dip

Here's Pam's recipe from last week. Thanks for sharing it Pam it was VERY good.

1 Tbsp instant minced onion
2 Tbsp water
2 chicken bouillon cubes (or 2 tsp instant chicken granules)
1 8 oz cream cheese
1/4 tsp dried dill
1 Tbsp chopped pimiento

Combine onion with water and crushed bouillon cubes and let stand a few minutes. Soften cheese and gradually add onion mixture. Add dill and pimiento and mix well.

Can Anyone Guess??

Some people are so creative!!!

Last night's recap

Pam thank you for hosting last night. Your house was so warm and cozy. I love that fireplace :) I'm glad you decided to change the scarf you are making. I think it will be beautiful!!

Dawn I'm glad you are ready to get that sleeve underway. It will be done before you know it! I am really looking forward to seeing the final project.

How are you coming along Kathleen with the things you were working on last night? Did you stay up to work on them.

I went home and made the thumb for the mitten and wove in all the ends. I even cast on for the next one. I am so tired this morning!

Ravelry

I know Ingrid and Dawnelle and I have signed up for this site. Kathleen has as well. If any of you loopy ewes haven't gone there, give it a try. Ravely is a fun knitting site. You have to put your name on a waiting list to be invited. I think it's worth the wait. I've been having fun there.

For those who are on my name there is DawnK (I know, how original).

Ok all of you loopy ravelry users post your user name for us.

take care,
Dawn K

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Judi thanks for hosting tonight. You house and in particular your tree was just lovely!! Thanks for the nachos. Oh, they were good and hit the spot! The cheese (well I'm not even going to try to spell that) were very good too! Your scarf is coming along nicely! Imagine we all found the time to knit a little!

Dawn the you know what that you made for you know who (You never know who is reading the blog LOL) looks wonderful. You did an awesome job :) I'm glad you got to cake your hanks. (I love saying that!)

Susan it was good to see you. Two weeks in a row for you. You are on a roll! BTW I love the shoes you had.

Ingrid, Cathy, Kathleen and Pam we missed you. Ingrid I hope you were loving that baby for all of us. Cathy I'm sure you were at the school committee meeting. Pam I'm sorry you weren't feeling well! Kathleen I hope you will share pictures of the performance for us. :)

Do Ewe Like The Dance?

Hello Loopy Ewes! In case any of you like to ring in the holiday season with a performance of "The Nutcracker", there just so happens to be such a performance this weekend at the Tilden Arts Center at CCCC. There are shows at 2pm and 7pm this Saturday and at 2pm on Sunday. Since we have the Nutcracker practically running through our veins every December, I thought I'd give a shout out to any of "ewe" who might be interested If you have other things to do, like knitting up a storm, shopping, etc., it's all good with me.

(I have to admit that I'm also posting this in an effort to gradually send D.elle's post of the intriguing knitted sculpture far and away. No offense there, D.elle! I will say though that whoever knitted it is pretty damn talented!)

I hope all of you Loopy Ewes had lots of fun tonight! I miss being there, but I'll be there with bells on next week! (By the way, my ears are ringing - stop talking about me!!! ;-) Kidding!)

Have a good night!
Kathleen
Hi!
I finally learned how to blog! Watch out Loopy Ewes
Love Susan

Mmmmmmm that was so good!

First, let me say Diane your latkes were soooo good! I ate so many and enjoyed EVERY BITE!!! Thank you so much for making them for us tonight! The chocolate cakes so just as scrumptious! Thank you and Dawn also for sharing your Hanukkah evening with us. It was a treat!

I think this is probably the night we have done the least amount of knitting

Dawnelle that blue color yarn you were using tonight was just gorgeous!!!! Your new home is just beautiful! I am so happy to be among the first guest you've had. What a great house it is. I wish you many many years of happiness there!

Susan it was good seeing you. :) You got so much done on your scarf. I looked once and was surprised about how much you had done!
Judi, your granddaughter will love that little purse. And congrats on the new grandchild to be! It'll be our third loopy ewe grandchild (since we all began knitting together! :) Good things come in threes!
Pam, I would love to see the toddler mitten when you are done. I think Mackenzie might need a pair :)

Ingrid we are all looking forward to seeing pictures of that new grand baby! I hope all went well. I'm very excited to here all about that little boy.

Kathleen, you're probably sitting on the beach, having a icy drink thinking about knitting right now. :) :) :) We missed you!

Dawn and Diane thanks again and I look forward to seeing you both tomorrow at school.

take care,
Dawn K
