Wednesday Night Ramblings and a Reminder!

Hello Loopy Ewes!  Last night was fun and perfectly mellow at Dawn K's house last night.  She whipped up some tasty macaroni and cheese to share with everyone.  We caught a little American Idol, and there were critics galore.  ;-)  There was also a lot of knittin' going on! Dawn, your green dishcloth is lovely, and I'm sure your swap buddy is getting the hint!  That little pink sweater that you made is so sweet!  Wendy, it was cool to see you wearing your purple socks, and that purple kitty is beyond cute.   Kari, the socks for your son are really nice and I'm so impressed that they are your first pair.  You are really whipping them up quickly! Judi, are you sure you don't want to share that gorgeous Araucania? You're making some progress on that orange sweater.  I'm sure it's going to be beautiful!  Ladies, I am proud to announce that I finally finished my Cruisin' Birthday Socks!  It's taken me awhile, but they are done, done, done!

Hey, Ingrid and Dawnelle, we missed you guys!

Just a reminder that next Wednesday, April 1st, is our dishcloth swap!  I'm sure you all have pretty dishcloths in the works or tucked away, ready for the big swap day!  We are meeting a Dawn K's for the exchange.  Wrapping is optional (see my post from last week).

Have a nice weekend, Loopies!
Kathleen :-)

P.S.  Does anyone need anything from KnitPicks?  The new Cookie A book is out and I need it STAT!  Let me know by Friday night.  Thanks! :-)

Craftsy Sheep?

It was a fun night at Ingrids last night! Thanks for hostessing two weeks and a row!! There was lots of knitting (and some ripping) going on! I think four (Ingrid, Wendy, Kari, and DL ) out of seven of us were working on socks. YEAHHHHHHHHH for your first heel turn, Kari! Judy was ripping something that was very cute and DK was also knitting something cute! Baby items??? Terri had a nice blue jean purse in the works!!

I know this is a strange sheep photo, but apparently a poet got permission to spray paint words on sheep and let them roam to create unique poems...anyways, I like weird stuff!

Anyways...see y'all next week at DKs...I hope your O's feel better.

Swap Update

Hello, Loopies!  Hope your dishcloths are all going swimmingly!  If you haven't started yet, no worries!  You still have plenty of time.  :-)

Dawn K mentioned the other night that she'd like to present her dishcloth a certain way.  I've been thinking about this a bit, so in order to avoid quashing anyone's creative freedom, I thought it would be good to set a parameter for presentation purposes.   Now this is not at all mandatory, but anyone who feels the need to present their dishcloth a certain way may do so.  How about we put a $2 cap on it, so no one goes crazy.   I will tell you all that all I need is a knitted dishcloth by one of my fellow Loopy Ewes to make me happy, and most of us feel the same.  However, there can be something about the presentation for some, so that's why I figured it would be good to allow for some expression.

If anyone objects, feel free to let me know.  The swap is in 18 days, Loopy Ewes, so happy knitting!

Kathleen

Look #2

Hi girls,

I agree I didn't like the purple either but it matched the header. I did some tweaking and now it's green and you all know how I feel about GREEN!!

Let me know what you think of this?

take care,
Dawn K

A face lift

Hi Ladies,

It was a fun filled night. I think I did the least amount of knitting though! Oh, the talking was great. :) I will type up the bylaws () later this week.

I am trying some face lifts to the background. Let me know what you think. I have to check to see if I still have Kathleen's original ewe to match it to the background color better.

I don't know about all of you but I am stuffed!!!!!! Good food.

Nothing witty from me tonight. I am heading to bed.

take care,

Dawn K

Knitting Night

Dear Loopy Ewes,
Well, its Tuesday afternoon and I (along with a couple of other ewes) am wondering where and when knitting might be tomorrow night. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but I am also wondering if the lack of interest in the blog is reflecting an attitude about knitting night. I have a couple of things
I want to bring up and I think it is important that EVERYONE who wants to participate weighs in...

1) A plan or schedule for the next month or two might be helpful to those of us who like to "plan"

2) Since we are having people over to our homes a system of RSVPing through the blog might be helpful as well. Of course we all understand that plans change and things come up, but as a courtesy to the hostess it would be nice to let her know!

3) Ingrid brought up meeting every other week not that long ago. I do think that making dates of every first and third Wednesday (for example) could work! Thats just my two cents!

So, I know we are all very busy in our day to day activities, but I would like to hear if anyone has feedback or anything at all to say about the future of the Loopy Ewes!

xoxo
