Wednesday night recap!

I'm glad everyone was able to come on over! I had a fun night! Diane it was so nice to have you join us, even if you are a TK~! I hope your dishcloth is coming along easier for you!

Wendy, I'm glad that you were able to stay a bit later. Yup, that's how we get when the night wears on! I hope you made some progress on your socks.

Kathleen, you, Judi and I were the froggers last night! Doesn't that expression remind you of the video game of the 80's? I meant to tell you that I have been using the market bag you made me at the grocery store the last few weeks. I keep it with my green bags to take in with me. Did you end up casting on again? Good luck with the modifications.

Dawn L that hat is "gorgeous darling!". I'll bet you that you get requests for more once your work of art is out there!

Judi, I'm with you. I'm starting all over again tonight. That's just not right that your yarn broke! Oh, I found your container with the dip in it in my fridge. I'll wash it out and return it to you the next time I see you.

Ingrid we missed you and hope your mother is doing well.

Well, my dear loopy husband woke me up at 3:30 this morning tugging on the covers. Finally at 4:30 when I couldn't get to sleep I just got up to start my day. I'm a dragging ewe today! I wanted to cast on the dishcloth again tonight. I don't know how long I'll be able to stay awake.

Next week is at Dawn L's.

Ozark Pudding (from Baked Alaska)

2 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups sugar
2 Tsp vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup coarsely chopped peeled apples
1 cut coarsely chopped walnuts
Unsweetened whipped cream for serving

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease a 10 inch round or 9 inch square baking pan.
Beat the eggs well with a whisk. Add the sugar and vanilla and continue beating until light and creamy. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt and stir into the egg mixture. Fold in the apples and nuts.
Spread the batter into the baking pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the top looks brown and crusty. Serve the pudding warm, with unsweetened whipped cream.

Makes 8-10 servings (you think?)

This Wednesday

Hi girls. Just to clear things up in the confusion of school starting, knitting will be at my house this week. I am planning on making the hot mexican dip. I hope to see all who can attend.

Oh, be sure to check out the post below to read about Dawn L's exciting Saturday!

take care,

Regatta (no knitting) Saturday

As you all know, we weren't able to put our boat in the water this year, but we were lucky enough to be able to crew on this beautiful Schooner (Lettie G. Howard) built in 1896! It was hard work, but worth it! Our boat came in First Place!!! I did bring my knitting aboard, but alas, no time for knitting! Barely time to get a sip of water!
See you Wednesday!

Off to Holland

I just wanted to let ewe all know that I am heading off to Holland on Thursday. My mom isn't doing well & it's time to go see her. Any prayers a/o good thoughts that you could spare would be very much appreciated :)
See you guys in 2 weeks. Ingrid

Knit Picks Anyone?

Hello Loopy Ewes!  I have a hankering to knit a new bag, but I need size 15 needles, so off to Knit Picks to order I go!  I was wondering if any of you, Loopy Ladies, need anything from that lovely establishment - needles, yarn, more needles, more yarn?  Email me or post a comment and I can get the ball rolling!  (Wouldn't it be nice to order the one or two things that you've been wanting without having to pay any shipping?!?)

Let me know, fair knitters!  I know we're not meeting this week, but I'll see you next Wednesday!
Kathleen :-)
