A little funny from Judi

Unbelievable!

Ok, I know I love to start new projects and am not the best at finishing HOWEVER I am on the path to changing my ways < wink >



So, I finished my scarf (sorry for the cruddy picture), I finished my 3rd mini sock for Dawn, (not that the first 2 did her any good) I finished my dishcloth for Dawnelle :) Yep, I said finished the dishcloth! I made a new 8 foot long icord for my booga bag - yes loopys, I am on a roll! :)
Today, I may even restart one of my socks. Life is good!

Isn't she lovely in her first knit sweater!! Dawnelle it's just BEA- U -TI -FUL!!! We are all so proud of you! We also are looking forward to the new field trip to see where you bought this pretty wool. You will be the warmest loopy ewe this winter!!!

Kathleen your sock is so pretty! I really like those colors. Your blue yarn is here. I'll wind it and have it for you next week.

Judi I am looking forward to seeing your purse all felted and put together. I'll post your cartoon tomorrow.

Pam, the dishcloth your making is very pretty in the color you chose as well. I guess tomorrow will be the day I start mine!

Rumor has it that Ingrid is busy catching up on all of her unfinished knitting projects. I can't wait to see what she's accomplished.

I don't know about the rest of you but I am stuffed...and thirsty! The buffalo wings were spicy.

Webkinz Couture Revisited

I know I've posted this outfit before, but now I have a pattern to go along with it. On Wednesday night, we were not only joined by the adorable Loopettes, but some of their furry webkinz as well. Shauna seemed very interested about giving her webkinz some style, so Ingrid requested the pattern for the Webkinz couture. It's the first time I've ever written a pattern, so I hope it makes sense. Here goes!

Webkinz scarf and booties

For the booties, make 4 Bitty Baby booties, pattern courtesy of Dawn K.

For the scarf
Using size 7 double-pointed needles, cast on 8 stitches. Knit in garter stitch until 10 ½ inches in length. Slip 4 stitches onto another needle and address later. Knit the 4 stitches on the remaining needle for 12 rows, continuing in garter stitch. Cut yarn, leaving an 8-inch tail, but leave stitches on the needle. Go back to the other needle and join in yarn. Knit 12 rows in garter stitch, making sure that you end with the yarn on the outside edge. (If you don’t, rip out or add a row. Just make sure it is even with the stitches you have knit on the other needle.) Slip stitches from one needle to the other, so that all 8 stitches are on one needle. Knit back and forth for 10 more rows (garter stitch) and bind off. If a flower is desired, knit in contrasting color, following the instructions below. Center on the end opposite from the slit you have created and sew on with needle and thread. Wrap the scarf around webkinz and pull flower end through the slit. You now have a stylin' pet!

Cast on 31 stitches.

Cut 8-inch tail. Thread through yarn needle and thread through stitches remaining on needle. Draw together and shape flower. Sew decorative button with needle and thread in the center for flower middle, if desired.

I'm baaacccckkkk.......

Hey there, Loopies! I just got home and caught up on all of your blogs. What a great week you have had! I'm so impressed with the work everyone is doing, or planning, or daring to try. I might have to order that damn sock book! Ingrid, were you one of the orderers? You're putting me to shame. I am almost done with the felted bag, and I am hoping someone will come felt with me this week.
We returned from Minnesota this evening, after a rainy week there with my kids, grandkids, and many friends. Lynn and I had a good time, but are really glad to be back. We were in airports for 12 hours on Saturday, so I knit and knit and knit! And my granddaughter, Zoey, asked me to help her learn to knit next time we get together! I can't wait for next Wed. Loopettes!

We were fortunate last night to have two new loopettes at our gathering. Livia and Shauna both joined in on the fun. Livia's pink square is quite lovely as is the beautifully colored scarf that Shauna is making as her own birthday present this fall. They enjoyed the festivities so much that they have decided to join our knitting exchange.

Dawnelle's food was so good. They tart was wonderful. I'm glad she shared the recipe! The "secret" treat was quite tasty! I really liked the cucumber dill dip. YUM!!!!

Dawnelle's sweater is coming along nicely! It will be finished before you know it! Ingrid, I'm glad to see you are working on that reggae hat! LOL! And let us not forget that Kathleen has dived into the world of sock knitting! Ingrid's sock book is so informative that both Dawnelle and I ordered one this morning!

Dishcloth exchange

For those of you who weren't with us last night, we picked names for the dishcloth exchange. We decided not to keep it a secret! Here's the list. We know that Susan had surgery and won't be able to knit for several weeks so we won't put her under the pressure to make one.
