T-Minus Ten Days until the Loopy Ewe Potluck!

Hello Loopy Ewes! It's getting closer to our big holiday potluck/swap celebration! I thought I'd take this opportunity to get the ball rolling, and this party started by having people think about what they'd like to bring to the festivities. Simply post a comment with what you'd like to bring, and I'll start a list in this post for all to see. The early bird catches the worm, so to speak, so if you're itching to bring something in particular, post away!

DL - Quinoa Vegetable Paella
Dawn - Mac and Cheese
Ingrid - 7-layer salad or finger sandwiches
Judi -
Wendy - Boneless Buffalo Chicken
Kathleen - Apple Crisp

Hope you all had a lovely holiday! K :-)

Oh, Kathleen, What a Pain Ewe Are!

Hello Loopy Ewes!

I admittedly missed last week's Loopy Ewe fun that involved a discussion of our annual holiday potluck where the initial decision was to have a Yankee Swap with handmade gifts.  While I am a big fan of the idea of handmade gifts, I'm not a fan of the swap of yankees.  I've spoken to a couple of other ewes who also have some concerns about the Yankee Swap in this instance, so I thought I'd propose some alternative scenarios for the swap.  With all of these, I'm keeping the $15 limit and handmade requirement in play.

Option 1:  Everyone brings a gift as planned, and then everyone is given a number from 1-7 or so when they walk in the door.  When it's time to exchange gifts, we all pick a number from 1-7 out of a hat and that's who you give your gift to.

Option 2:  Regular Secret Santa.  Everyone puts her name in a bag.  We all draw a name and plan a gift for that person.

Option 3:  I'll put the Yankee Swap in there as an option, since a lot of people already agreed upon it.  (What I'm not wild about here is opening a cool gift and having someone take it from me!)

Please chime in and let us know what you think.  Post an anonymous comment with your vote.  I expect to see 7 answers, Loopy Ewes!

Another post will be posted as we get closer about what everyone wants to bring for the potluck part.  I won't see ewe all tomorrow, as we are in the throes of the Nutcracker this week in my neck of the woods.  Hope you all have a blast tomorrow!  K :-)

Missing Ewe...

Is anyone interested in having knitting group on the last Tuesday of December, 12/30? Just wondering...

I love a rainy night!

In this crazy holiday season, it was so nice to take a time out and sit and knit with the Loopy Ewes! Thank you for hosting at your very beautifully decorated Christmas-y home, Dawn! You are really on a roll with those Christmas gifts...most of which I won't talk about! But Brittany is a lucky, lucky daughter! Wendy... you had some very cool show-and-tell knits!!! You definitely need a photo of the newest hat to put on this blog! Judi...I am so proud of how you keep trucking on the sock! AND...I can't wait to see your baby Llama hat!

So...the news you have all been waiting for! We have worked out a Holiday exchange that I hope is acceptable to those who were not there last night! We will schedule a potluck for January 7th and everyone can post what they would like to bring! We thought a nice way to exchange gifts would be a Yankee Swap! The rules of the swap would be a price limit of $15.00 and the item has to be HAND CRAFTED! Hand Crafted means it must be made by you or purchased by you, but hand made by someone else!!! So, Happy Holidays Loopy Ewes!

Where, oh where are we tonight?

Actually tomorrow night. I just spoke with Ingrid. She's pulling grandma duty and won't be able to host (or attend ....boo hoo). It looks like it will be at my house tomorrow night. The week after Ingrid will host for Wendy. Then back to me...then Judi, Dawn L...then back to Ingrid...and so on ...and so on....and so on!

Round and round and round we go. Where we meet I hope you'll know. Oh, dear. I've been in kindergarten too long LOL!

See you all tomorrow with bells on!

take care,
Dawn K

Hi Loopies...

I would love to have this week's knit-along at my house, unless someone has already planned. Let me know. I really missed last week. Can't wait to see all the new projects. Judi
